Introduction
by imloco2
Before a word is spoken I'd like to take a minute and give a great
big hug and THANK YOU to TERI !!!!! She has been wonderful,
offering to put these stories up in the first place, and going to
all the trouble of giving them a nice home. She is always
cheerful, no matter how many times we change plans, and I really
appreciate the enthusiasm she has shown, not only for these
stories, but fan fic in general. She's the best!
Now, on to the introduction...
What do you do when you have seen the last four Season 3 episodes of Farscape and your mind is totally frelled? When you’re at a complete loss for a story to explain what has happened, and can’t think of what ‘might’ happen? (thanks DK *g*) Well if you’re me, you go backwards. Back to a time when things went pear shaped as they always do for our beloved crew, but in a completely different way.
Back to The Locket.
Everyone has thoughts on what Aeryn’s life was like on the Favored Planet while she was with John. We actually saw snippets of their life together at the end of that episode. However, it occurred to me that we know almost nothing about her time before that. She was there 160 cycles, married, buried her husband and 3 sons, she has a granddaughter she loves - and they garden. A lot. That’s all that was said, and that’s all we know.
Until now.
I asked a few friends, all who happen to be among the best writers I know, if they would give it some thought and come up with a snippet, a scene, a story about her life during those 160 cycles she was on the planet before John came. Just Aeryn, alone on a strange planet.
And they said Yes! (For which I will be forever grateful!)
And so it was that we created the Favored Planet and its people. We thought of family, names, technology, topography, food, games, you name it. It’s a whole new world. Some of the stories are short, some are longer. All of them are good. (Yes, I’m prejudice *g*) They are here in chronological order, starting from the beginning when she first landed on the Favored Planet to the end of Aeryn’s time without John. My list of authors is drawn from the Sci Fi Channel bboard because that is the place I frequent the most and where I know most of the people. I know there are many authors who are equally as great, both on the board and elsewhere, and I wish I could have given everyone the opportunity to turn me down. :-) But truly, this was all I could handle. *g*
A special thanks and a severe throttling to Justin Monjo. The writer of this wonderful episode, The Locket. He’ll never know how many times we wanted to call him up in the middle of the night and scream… “What were you thinking?!” Any timeline, continuity and logic problems that you may encounter rest solely on his shoulders. *g* And if you ‘don’t’ encounter any… We are da bomb! LOL
And I can’t leave without saying a most sincere and heartfelt thank you to aeryncrichton. Without her help I’m not sure any of this would have been done. She has helped in ways too numerous to mention, but believe me, I appreciate the time, effort and skill she has put into helping me with this project. Truly a friend.
And so, without further ado, here it is. The Aeryn Years, according to us.

Spoilers: Anything up to and including The Locket
Disclaimer: Everybody already knows I already own nothing, not even my car.
Summary: In “The Locket” Ennixx tells John when he gets to the Favored Planet that Aeryn talked about him all the time. This is the story of the first time she mentions him.
This was a hard write for me. Atana has always found the Locket to be a very traumatic episode. I watched it once and have never looked at it again. So when my dear friend Loco asked that I take this on, I was VERY reluctant to do so. But she was very persuasive, and I love a challenge, so here it is. But I won’t be doing one like this again I think. It took a lot out of me and I usually don’t like to cry while I’m writing.
Thanks to Loco for naming it (like she always does) and AerynCrichton and Tazy for being the bestest beta’s in the UT’s. And thanks also, to Aeryn Sun. For showing me she had something to say on the subject after all.

Rating: G for General Audiences, or for Grumpy Vorlags, or for Generous Hynerians. Pick one.
Spoilers: Anything up to and including The Locket
Disclaimer: "Mr. Kemper, if you read this, I promise you, it was written by my Evil Twin Skippy, who often impersonates me on the BB. We all know that you and that nice Mr. O'Bannon and Mr. Henson own Farscape and all these nice characters. BTW, I make no money at all, out of this or anything else. Skippy lives in a heavily guarded compound in Montana if you want to get in touch with him."
Summary:
"Go around the frelling mist, Pilot. I'm too busy to go scouting." Aeryn cried as she went back to nuzzling John.
Sure, that's the way The Locket would have started if I'd written it, but Monjo got there first, so I'm stuck with a little story about Aeryn and her grand daughter, Ennixx, set just before Aeryn heads back to Moya after so many cycles.
You know, there's still time to do a complete re-write of The Locket my way. We can even have vorlags.
Oh well.
