I'm on full awake tour
Category III - The Regular Jo(e) You are the quintessential standard conjured by the word 'Friend'.
Must have the Unabridged 8 CD rendering of Alan Dean Foster's, Interlopers, as read by Ben Browder. Long avowd I'd listen to a reading of the Saturday Evening Post, I simply must obtain this puppy. And, that's saying nothing about Cult Times #107, which I also, and needless to say, must have.
Much love to Ben Browder-OnLine for providing links and other pretty puffery, and the brief and giddy vid file of Ben saying his thanks and goodbyes! Just so nice. Those of us who couldn't make it are forever in your debt, April, and thanks also to BB-O for hosting and the lending of bandwidth. You rock.
But you know, the farewell with Ben doesn't count unless you get him to cry. And no fair kicking. *g*
Ah! Gakked from pkgrl. This is too cool ladies and gents...
K? If we'd known we could get something that cool from ComicCon, we woulda taken the 8 hour trip, plus the 4 to get through LA traffic. heh.
Somebody tell me what the text says, this image is too dang small for me defective eyes!
ETA: Found my glasses. Cute, guys. heh.
Oh, and added link to my dealer. This guy is all the important R's: Reliable, Reputable, Relaxed. Just love him. If you're hooked on comics without a dealer nearby; check 'm out.
Okey dokey, week 1 of final quarter is painless in that the instructors are never ready. No syllabus, no course description, nothing. Intro to Psychology was 40 minutes of being talked to like a fifth grader (although, given the number of fifth graders in the room, understandable), and then another 40 minutes of reading. Yes. Reading. From the text. What's that about?
Reccs updated at Polyamourous Reccs: 120 stories, 40 fandoms. Delayed, but not deterred, by illness, injury, job woes, school woes, vacations, connection problems, and lightning strikes. Nestra and shrift
This boggles my mind. One hundred and twenty stories! Even at my best I can't do that. One hundred and twenty! Oy! And, Dude, "Lightening Strikes". This cannot be good.
Oh, and lookee, lookee; Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal are doing a movie together. They're playing at being a couple of sheepherders in Wyoming in Larry McMurtry's 'Brokeback Mountain'. Okay... why is this making me laugh? 'Cause, I went through a McMurtry phase, and I know the guy can write, but still... giggling here. And, dude, they are also credited as being in what is likely to be a surfing and/or sailing movie after filming BBM. Heath and Jake. *contemplates* Are these guys "Teen Idols" or something? *wanders in Cluelessville*
Am pondering spending 2 hours watching I, Robot. Alex Proyas directs I, Robot - and he last directed Dark City in 1998 (admittedly a darn good looking film) with only a small independent Australian film in between (which, reportedly, is also quite nice looking), also directed The Crow in 1994, and I can totally vouch for that being visually stunning and ass-kicking all at the same time. And now, a decade later, he's doing a Willy movie. Wassup with that? I mean, this guy's got a TINY resume of film, and somebody hands him a multi-million dollar movie? Gah. I still haven't decided if I'm up to spending two hours of my life on a movie I just know is going to piss me off, just for the pretty.
Okay, I'm watching the new episodes of Dead Like Me and 6 Feet Under (what is this obsession with death?), and yeah, I know, but the second I put anything Farscapish under these eyes, it's all over, and--you know--school and things HAVE to happen, and I'm just not that disciplined. *g*
Does anyone know who directed Peacekeeper Wars? Okay, don't tell me 'cause I'm having a hard enough time not trying to guess (read: know on intellectual level who he/they are), but I just need to know the spoiler is out there someone. Waiting for me to fall on it.
Be sure and check comments, a fic recc fairy is leaving story links on occassion. I like to think this is just for me (heh) but, I wouldn't want anyone else to miss out, and if you can second the recc; drop a comment. ;)
Another link, this one for a blow-by-blow commentary on the Farscape Mini teaser courtesy of Dallascaper at Farscape Fantasy. (Thanks, Robyn, for the link). We will so not be indulging, as this commentary/analysis is bound to be riddled with spoilerish talk. Seriously, just seeing the 30 second spot as aired made me want to burn my eyes out! heh. In a good way. *snerk* Although, ahem, I will be downloading the commentary and watching it 'after' the mini airs. (Yes, after! ... Do not give me that look, I mean it! ... Seriously... ... fine, then... No! I'm not watching it... no. Just... no.)
Anyway, according to Robyn: (quote) Dallascaper does a frame-by-frame commentary parsing out pretty much everything the teaser tells us about the mini. (/quote). Oooh! And there's music! heh. Damn it.not watching. ...
Info dredged from Farscapeweb.com points us over to Scapers Sanctuary (home of the much beloved SACC), where you can download your very own copy of that tantalizing teaser that aired during the Season 8 Premiere of Stargate: SG1 last Friday evening. If you can't download, don't despair, SciFi is pimping all their new shows like the whores they are, so; if you sit glued to SciFi long enough, you're bound to catch it -- although, in the 4 hours we watched on Friday, the promo aired but once! Bastards! :)
And we gotta add a couple more links to the menu. *sigh*
Oh, and wow, saw a movie. This is, of course, only earth shattering when you consider... well, a movie! That's, like, two hours I'll never get back. It was kind of enjoyable, even in light of the enamel I lost while initally gnashing my teeth over the mangling of anything even vaguely historically accurate. After squirming through the Exposition of Death in the first act, I decided to just sit back and enjoy all the hot men and grime, and was not displeased, on the whole.
King Arthur. Kinda fun. And Clive Owen as Arthur and Ioan Gruffudd (Also set to play Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic in the film version of Marvel's 'Fantastic Four', which could totally go SO wrong) as Lancelot? Hot! Yowza. Ray Winstone, who plays one of the Knights (Bors) and first witnessed in the UK version of Robin Hood (Robin of Sherwood) in 1984, has played in virtually everything, and I adore him to pieces. He can totally play with my toys anytime he wants. Totally gawsome! This film is just packed with gorgeous guys. Woof.
But honestly, I really hate 'relearning' stuff, and now I've got to figure out how to manipulate this 'easier' method in order to get my posts to come out looking the way I want them too. That's not too much to ask. *pft*
Okay, frelling Blogger updated itself making it even easier to make an entry. Somehow this annoys me, as I had the bugger set just the way I wanted it! *sigh* Fuck trying to compete with Livejournal, you guys! I don't need easy. I need it the way it was! [/fucking rant!]
You are Sloth!
Lazy, huh?? You're a bit slow in getting going and tend not to do anything unless it is absolutely necessary. You'd rather sit around, watch TV/Sleep, then go out and about with friends, or take part in a sporting event. On the positive side, you tend to be quite smart, as you spend a lot of time watching the News(!!) or on the computer, also by conserving your energy, it's right there waiting for you when it's vitally important to get going. Consider possibly moving out of the room once in a while - and perhaps once a week trade watching TV for half an hour with a walk - and you'll be back on track. However; congratulations on being the most intelligent of the 7 deadly sins...
