Vids are like a shot to the heart
Of course Kemper would be nuts not to encourage this kind of thing. Just downloaded You Made Me Love You at Uncharted Territories, and, well, let's just say it's gotta be the best intro to Farscape possible. Somebody says, "Farscape? Wuzzat?" Just, make 'em watch this vid. *sigh* Now I gotta go watch the whole damn series, right from Premiere
Uncharted Territories *guh* Just. *guh* This one has everything a scaper might want, including enjoyable fiction. And so purty. I. must. download. vids. heh
Dreams Deferred, by Kerlin Really long. I mean, long. Novel length long. Didn't count the k, but it's up there. Nice action. Excellent John and Aeryn. Intelligent and compelling original characters. Some hard hitting stuff. If you're into long!fic, this is for you. Keeping the link to wade back into when there's more time.
Times Needle, by ReefRunner Again. Horrifically long. For all I can tell, a good story - but you gotta have real staying power to get through it. Good construction, transition elements really drew me in. This one is strictly John and Scorpius, the enforced partnership not nearly as galling as I'd hoped it would be. Like Dreams Deferred, the story relies a great deal on original characters, worlds, and politics. To really draw me in, as I'm there to read Farscape fiction, it's gotta focus more on Farscape characters. Granted, David doesn't leave us much room for character development (bastard), but he gave us one hell of a good show (darlin'). Dreams Deferred and Time's Needle are very much stock scifi, I see some Pournelle and Niven influences there.
What's that scifi book, "Have 'something or other' Will Travel"? Yeah, damn. Where are all my books!? God, I'm annoyed with myself. I used to read this stuff all the time and now I can't even find a fucking book!

Holiday, by cofax Short and oh, so sweet. Everything I'm looking for in fiction right now. Well, except I really still kinda prefer the angst. Gotta hop over to Cofax's fiction. I haven't really indulged since Written on a Thumbnail. Now, look, at all the pretty stories.
The last two years of my life seem like they've been sucked into an educational vortex where creativity is squelched in favor of an ability to memorize irrelevant factoids. *whine*

Haven't read anything really brilliant, sorry; it's the time thing, but because of the damn tweaking; got sucked into my own archive and reread a couple. The Aeryn Years just draws at me, as a non-writer I think that was the most incredible experience I've had thus far with Farscape Fan Fic. Taken as a whole, man, you guys are good. *adores on this fandom*

Hope this means more fun in a week when she moves on to Season 1 Episode 1... uh, what was that ep again? *ebil grin* BBQ would adore seeing that and watch all the ooooohhhhhhh's and aaaaaaahhhhhhhh's of adoration spring forth. I feel better and can go back to wanking about life and what else I'm doing. Oh, definitely! Finishing my first degree next quarter, and I only have to take 22 units to do it! heh.

Hey. Big news! Officially giddy now! But it's so too early for giddiness! It's, like, 4 more months until October! Ally is SO not a spoiler whore, but we did read the damn TV Guide article! And why did they put [deleted] right there in the crease! Bastards.
We're just weak *whimpers* and we've seen at least one pic from the mini. Ahhhhh, [deleted], [deleted] look so [deleted] all [deleted]. Okay. This is gonna be hard, but Ally's is a spoiler free zone... and don't email spoilers either... well... unless it's pics of [deleted] and [deleted] and, well... maybe a few of [deleted]. Jesus. I'm screwed.
We should finish our degree by October, it's only an AAS, but we're gonna be damn proud of it. And, hey, what better way to remember significant events? *g* Hm, the only catch is, we think we're gonna double major *ack* which could extend this whole "no real life except for lurking" thing another six months. And then there's the BA... shit.
Our personal must read list is gettin' bigger, but we still resist the WiP. No WiP readin'. Nuh uh! *sweats*
And, oh god, it looks like we're goin' to the convention. How is this happening!

Oh, and recruiting again for Ally's. Anyone fic addicted with time to make a recc? Contact CK or myself. We'll talk. Ideally, we'd like to expand our team from 2 to 6 (or even 12); that way everyone can talk, with only one person every month or so making the recc boat float. Yeah, kinda like Crack Van, only this crack is a Farscape addiction.
You can still pre-register for Escapade until tomorrow, June 15.
A programming schedule will be posted (if it hasn't already).
The one big change is that the banquet has been moved to FRIDAY; a scheduling snafu has prompted this rearrangment, but we can all still have a good time.
