Week 1 Down; 10 to go
Okey dokey, week 1 of final quarter is painless in that the instructors are never ready. No syllabus, no course description, nothing. Intro to Psychology was 40 minutes of being talked to like a fifth grader (although, given the number of fifth graders in the room, understandable), and then another 40 minutes of reading. Yes. Reading. From the text. What's that about?
Reccs updated at Polyamourous Reccs: 120 stories, 40 fandoms. Delayed, but not deterred, by illness, injury, job woes, school woes, vacations, connection problems, and lightning strikes. Nestra and shrift
This boggles my mind. One hundred and twenty stories! Even at my best I can't do that. One hundred and twenty! Oy! And, Dude, "Lightening Strikes". This cannot be good.
Oh, and lookee, lookee; Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal are doing a movie together. They're playing at being a couple of sheepherders in Wyoming in Larry McMurtry's 'Brokeback Mountain'. Okay... why is this making me laugh? 'Cause, I went through a McMurtry phase, and I know the guy can write, but still... giggling here. And, dude, they are also credited as being in what is likely to be a surfing and/or sailing movie after filming BBM. Heath and Jake. *contemplates* Are these guys "Teen Idols" or something? *wanders in Cluelessville*
Am pondering spending 2 hours watching I, Robot. Alex Proyas directs I, Robot - and he last directed Dark City in 1998 (admittedly a darn good looking film) with only a small independent Australian film in between (which, reportedly, is also quite nice looking), also directed The Crow in 1994, and I can totally vouch for that being visually stunning and ass-kicking all at the same time. And now, a decade later, he's doing a Willy movie. Wassup with that? I mean, this guy's got a TINY resume of film, and somebody hands him a multi-million dollar movie? Gah. I still haven't decided if I'm up to spending two hours of my life on a movie I just know is going to piss me off, just for the pretty.
Okay, I'm watching the new episodes of Dead Like Me and 6 Feet Under (what is this obsession with death?), and yeah, I know, but the second I put anything Farscapish under these eyes, it's all over, and--you know--school and things HAVE to happen, and I'm just not that disciplined. *g*
Does anyone know who directed Peacekeeper Wars? Okay, don't tell me 'cause I'm having a hard enough time not trying to guess (read: know on intellectual level who he/they are), but I just need to know the spoiler is out there someone. Waiting for me to fall on it.
Be sure and check comments, a fic recc fairy is leaving story links on occassion. I like to think this is just for me (heh) but, I wouldn't want anyone else to miss out, and if you can second the recc; drop a comment. ;)
