Florence Nightingale in Leather by Whitelight ::R:: I first saw this on LJ and it was just a teeny tiny snippet of the whole thing. This is incredible. The editting and the craftmanship show in this evolution of the story. And I can forgive Whitelight for Naked!Lechna for this now.

Five Things That Never Happened to Larraq by Whitelight::R:: Sorry, I may be in the minority (with Whitelight right there with me, apparently) but I liked Larraq (and Velorek, but that's another thing all together). And I think it is easier, maybe not, to handle characters that only show up once in the show in this sort of way. You could make up anything and it would be plausible.

Building Babel by SETI_fan ::G:: Wow, this takes post "Bad Timing" to a whole other level! I lot of people write Naked!John/Aeryn or switch the body parts around or, just, you know, lots of things. This story is DIFFERENT. This story is intense. This is how I would picture the character after an ordeal of having your molecules rearranged. This is what I think McCoy fears whenever he enters the transporter room. Really. Go read this.

Talk is Cheap by CrystalMoon ::PG:: Post "Twice Shy" story, and I really like where this story goes. Not about the whole John and Aeryn finding time to be alone, but the fact that neither one of them trust each other WITH each other yet. That it really isn't until they have Pilot as an intermediary that things start to come out into the open. I like this alot.
And of course, there's Fate's Gamble Argh. Not. Going. There. Yet.
Mare Tranquilis by thea ::PG:: I admit, I'm on a "Terra Firma" kick lately. And this one, hands down, is one of the best stories I've seen with that ep in mind. This has also recently been posted to Kansas, in a newer,sleeker fashion. :-)
Got tired of the cut and paste... go here to read about ScaperCon 2003 and my fic recc's... fic recc's are near the top (at least for now), ScaperCon report is about mid-way down.
ScaperCon was a blast. Got to meet my fic heroes. Got to meet a whole bunch of other people and get round after round of 'you don't look old enough to have a PhD' and or 'you're nothing like I pictured you'. Yeah, well, baby face is a curse, and yes, I am 31 (so says my mother, and she wouldn't lie to me, right?), I've had the PhD for nearly 4 years (me no take time off between high school, college and grad school) and I have the paper to prove it -- if only I could find it in the mess that is my attic.
Fic is coming in leaps and bounds over on Kansas and other such places. Sometimes you have to hunt for good fic. I've been sticking primarily to the drabble-dom over on LiveJournal when the going gets tough on Kansas. But there is new fic from Kernil Crash, aeryncrichton, robynbender (always fan favorites), Casper F. Joke has a great series going now, and ....

Oh happy day! And Red has come back to writing Tuesday Fic too. Go check out Province of the Red... it's linked somewhere on this page, I know it is. Really.
