good god and finally finished!

Geez. Okay. Just be in a coma til Friday. Not a problem. Oh, damn it. Not finished. Still have the main credits page to finish. Maybe I can just assure everyone that the entire episode stands as a homage to self-referencing and thinly veiled Crichtonisms-- yeah? Nah. I didn't buy it either. Oh yeah. Well, okay, that'll be along, hopefully before Friday, and hey. Anyone just dying to send me an email about Macbeth, the Princess Bride, role-reversal and the psychology of Hansel and Gretel, or well, hell, just about anything else... I'm all ears. Already got plenty of thanks to send out to people prompting and providing info. We're way the frell behind in emails.

Oops, forgot, there is a least one very important piece of information to be gleaned; a 'big picture' element. I got a shiver and a giggle all wrapped up in one when I heard it. Anticipation is killin' me!

=> Here's some stuff we've been saving up without time to even check in on blogger.

Just sayin' again: the BBQ doesn't care for episode summaries. What with the transcript, we're pretty certain we know what happened in the ep- sequentially speaking. Heh. Practically blind from that. *g*

Having said that, we understand the desire for summaries from those who haven't 'seen' the ep, and so a few links to be added to the sidebar. TGUT, Snurcher, Farscape World, and Farscape on TNMC. Ep summaries usually come a lot slower than ep discussions, and even slower than the transcript. We're usually done and put it to bed before we can add links on individual transcript pages for episode summary links. So. If summaries are what make you channel Mikey-- you'll be able to look left for that.

For the transcript pages, what we look for, what we want, what we need; insightful discussion(s). A pointing finger in varicolored text that screams, "Oh, wow! Look at this!", shining a big old spotlight on particular story moments, or story elements. Stuff that makes the BBQ go: "Cool. I didn't see that." or, "Hell, yeah!". Makes us smile. Big time. For somesuch as heretofore described, check out The Max Factor, for some of those big old spotlights on John Quixote. There is so much going on in the episode we could chew on it from now til doomsday and not hit on every metaphorical element.

Oh, but first, that non-NC17 Smallville fic recc, I was searching for, although safety rating probably R for adult themes. All Human Things, by Livia. I love the the style of this one-- this is the one I was trying desperately to remember, J. Incredible. Incredibly satisfying. I don't believe you have to have seen the episode that this story draws it's history from, I haven't and I didn't feel a bit lost.

Ally Reccs

Watch the same episodes as everyone else-- fancy myself perceptive. Hm. Sometimes the simplest things slip past me. Exploiting one of those simple things, Sunshiner makes me go 'oops', and shiver in fearful anticipation. Season 4 SpoilerFic: Sojourn, by Sunshiner.

Got a couple other things with no time to add. Feature more NC17 reccs tomorrow. For now... sleeeeeeeeep.

the good news and the bad news

Okay, it's wrong to say that this is a tranny in progress, 'cause the only thing complete is the credits section. I have *got* to go, I won't be back til late. I imagine I won't sleep again til this puppy is done. Mark it well, check back again around midnight PST. It's all just fun and games, kids.

oy...

Okay, anyone having seen John Quixote, hopefully have spared the BBQ a compassionate thought, 'how the hell is she gonna do this one?!'. *g* Answer being: Very carefully.

Apologies to those impatiently waiting, we're being dragged off today to enjoy the whole life thing and we may not be back til late. Please do check in with XenaJules, as she is frequently much faster than the BBQ. Never fear, ours will be up sooner than later, we're projecting tranny in progress by late tonight, and complete by late Sunday. Sleep? What the hell's that? Uh oh, and caveat: Expect 'much' snarkiness, and yet another trivialists delight. Are we having fun yet? We haven't even reached the top of the first drop.

happy nostaligia train

Well, we cannot believe it, but our copy of Reservoir Dogs is far too deep into storage to bother dragging it out. So, being as that the damn thing is on VHS anyway; purchased pre-DVD technology for a wonder, we determined to get us a copy on DVD. Bad news, it's out of print and un-touchable. Good news, Special Edition DVD is coming out on the exact same day as Season 2, Vol 2 Farscape. Odd coincidence (cue Twilight Zone theme). So, come August 27th we'll have Farscape Season 2 Volume 2, the Mr. White version of Reservoir Dogs, and *gulp* School House Rock. *sigh* We're hopin' we haven't dated ourselves too badly with our desire to have those PSA readily available for the viewing. Is John old enough to have enjoyed SHR?

On the downside, the Vol 2 Season 2 DVD should have such stellarly lack-luster eps as Picture if you Will, The Way We Weren't, Home on the Remains, and Dream A Little Dream. Maybe we'll get a cut rate. Best we can really hope for is bitchin' commentaries in which we can imagine Ben, Claudia, Anth and Gigi gigglin' in the dark.

Trying to find an excellent non-NC17 Smallville fic to recc, but there's so much lovely smut in Smallville Fic Land, we keep gettin'... side-tracked. Oy. We've determined we must have a thing for bald. Zhaan. Bald. Lex. Bald. Go figure. Of course, Lex. Gotta lick him. Uh. Did I say that out loud?

Crap.

The BBQ makes every effort to answer all email received- granted it's usually a 'gee whiz *blush* thanks' kinda thing, and usually as quickly as possible. Sadly, we've frelled that a bit and gotten far, far behind. So, very great thanks to the kind words from Rodolfo, Andreas, Kevin, Elly, Shaun, and Angela, and you know... everyone else we've forgotten or accidently deleted from the inbox... ...we're glad you enjoy! Keep comin' back, and feel free to email anytime! We usually don't suck so much at timely responses. But, there you are.

Oy.hate it/love it that cofax/maayan/fi are all in the same room together. Hate it 'cause no way in hell we can witness it first hand, and love it cause... hey, those three minds in one room? Oy.

Check fi's thoughts on 4:06 over at toe in the water. A look into the mind of a hybrid PK.

Maayan makes me tingle, and the BBQ decides that 'yes', there is time for a lengthy, "oh, yeah, baby!" bit of response. ...eventually. *g*

Therapy sucks, 'cause, unless you're nuts, you already know what they're gonna say.

Uhoh. Picking up California Environmental Plates tomorrow and the full, sad state of our affection will be revealed to all. *tsk* But, hey. Makes me smile. *g*

Babyfic isn't doin' it for the BBQ. Not likely to find any here.

Prometheus

Titan! to whose immortal eyes

The sufferings of mortality,

Seen in their sad reality,

Were not as things that gods despise;

What was thy pity's recompense?

A silent suffering, and intense;

The rock, the vulture, and the chain,

All that the proud can feel of pain,

The agony they do not show,

The suffocating sense of woe,

Which speaks but in its loneliness,

And then is jealous lest the sky

Should have a listener, nor will sigh

Until its voice is echoless.

Titan! to thee the strife was given

Between the suffering and the will,

Which torture where they cannot kill;

And the inexorable Heaven,

And the deaf tyranny of Fate,

The ruling principle of Hate,

Which for its pleasure doth create

The things it may annihilate,

Refus'd thee even the boon to die:

The wretched gift Eternity

Was thine--and thou hast borne it well.

All that the Thunderer wrung from thee

Was but the menace which flung back

On him the torments of thy rack;

The fate thou didst so well foresee,

But would not to appease him tell;

And in thy Silence was his Sentence,

And in his Soul a vain repentance,

And evil dread so ill dissembled,

That in his hand the lightnings trembled.

Thy Godlike crime was to be kind,

To render with thy precepts less

The sum of human wretchedness,

And strengthen Man with his own mind;

But baffled as thou wert from high,

Still in thy patient energy,

In the endurance, and repulse

Of thine impenetrable Spirit,

Which Earth and Heaven could not convulse,

A mighty lesson we inherit:

Thou art a symbol and a sign

To Mortals of their fate and force;

Like thee, Man is in part divine,

A troubled stream from a pure source;

And Man in portions can foresee

His own funereal destiny;

His wretchedness, and his resistance,

And his sad unallied existence:

To which his Spirit may oppose

Itself--and equal to all woes,

And a firm will, and a deep sense,

Which even in torture can descry

Its own concenter'd recompense,

Triumphant where it dares defy,

And making Death a Victory.

Lord Byron (1816)

Can't find anything I want to read in Farscape fic land, but wallowing in the riches of Smallville fic... here's a tease from one of Te's greats...

[the smile]...Fades slowly, almost crumbling on Lex's face and yeah, this is what happens when people die. No one's ever supposed to smile, or laugh, but they do anyway, and then they feel like complete and utter shit about it. At least, that's the way it worked when his grandmother died, and his grandmother had been...

She hadn't been anyone who made loving her complicated.

Closer, by Te [NC-17]

Read that one dozens of times already. Will read it dozens more. Already added to hardcopy library. And it's... simply awesome. That particular passage always breaks me. The story is beyond intensely good. Word of warning so's you know. Story is rated NC-17 for same sex sex. If that makes you squicky, don't read. In the BBQ's humble opinion... this is romance. This is romantic love, and we don't give a flyin' frell that it's two guys. Just... mind-bogglingly good. If you read, bring tissues. The BBQ needs a Lex squeeze toy. Hm. Now I probably gotta send an email. Crap.

But just to give us a reason for living... whenever we can't find a Farscape Fic to recc... we're gonna go off topic and find something else entertaining.

Oh, and hey. Environmental plates came in. BBQ's BAT mobile now sports some bitchin' vanities for the California Coastal Commission. Pics later.

Trust me...

Okay, added a few 'things' to the side bar. Just for the BBQ and Ally really, not that we think anyone here is officially addicted to Smallville Fic, or can even 'join' the David Kemper Rollercoaster Society-- given that it's in archives, but; there you are. We couldn't resist. *g* Just like to show the love.

We're enjoying the new shows. I mean... *really enjoying the new shows*... but we are already looking forward to Labor Day. Nothing like doing transcripts to make you enjoy the humanly endurable breaks.

Natural Election was the first ep of the season that has made me point and go 'AH HA! SEE!!' right here in the blog, but then I'd have to break my word AND do blank fonting, and really... nothing's important enough for that! If you really wanna know what the BBQ thinks... just read Maayan's thoughts on the ep over at Divine Collective. Hm. Think we must be genetic twins somehow. *g* Also got a little long winded over at The Max Factor, and some of my more overt comments included over there at Orchid's... Place *bg* And by the way, this just proves that opposing character forces can get along! Jen an irredeemable Aeryn booster, and the BBQ well... you know. ;)

What we will say, is that Natural Election was a trivialists paradise! So many new words and things and so much self referencing going on that we could have a good game of Chainmale Trivia 'just' with this ep! I love it when the archivist writes an ep!

Now... gotta get back to that whole reading thing, and the feedback from the black lagoon. Later on. Hopefully done before John Quixote!

picky-picky

Yep, definitely getting harder to please. Tastes are changing as well. Don'tcha hate it when that happens? So, does anyone really 'care' what Ally likes or doesn't? Should we just fling up 'everything' we find despite the fact that we can't bring ourselves to read it? How desperately do we need fic? Well, okay, can't believe we asked that!

For more than a forgettable grin or pleasant though transitory warm feeling, Ally the 'reader' needs, demands, complexity. Writing that is dense and layered such that, without direct access to the author's thoughts, the reader must derive their own meaning from the words. As many meanings as there are readers. This the the best. Mm. Better than... chocolate.

Starting to prefer character study, the writer turns the character inside out so the reader can lick the creamy center. Uh. Okay, that's just... gross. *g* And hey, so what if you're vision isn't my vision? It's the examination, what is revealed... that's the attraction.

Okay, and what is it with the food analogies? Humph.

The Smile, by Reefrunner

This one pleased me on a number of levels, and then took me back where I didn't want to go. But the trip was pleasant enough.

GOLDEN APPLES - Part 19, by BetanSurvey ( pd 7/16/02 )

Because we've been following this one 4EVER and we now need to know how it's going to end. Once the story reaches a conclusion, we'll post all parts again and a semi-coherent rant on why we love it.

CrystalMoon posts a link to a new interview with Ben Browder for the Charlotte Observer. Thanks, Crys! And for the Charlotte Observer: You guys got excellent taste, but it's passionate!... not rabid. *g*

Promises revealed

Meanwhile... over at wormhole, Fi posts an indepth and mouthwatering analysis/discussion of Promises including a riviting dissection of Aeryn's possible motivations. Maybe she'll even post it on her blog sometime real soon. Between this and Maayan's thoughts over at Divine Collective a very cool understanding of what David Kemper is *up to* this season is revealed. These are the absolute best ep analysis' that I've come across. And we SEARCH baby! Okay, we're a little enthusiastic... could'ja tell?

But, hey, it's not like he didn't warn us that S4 was gonna be a 'do over'... right?

And remember, kids... these are analysis... character analysis... sometimes a bit of story analysis (for all the benefit that'll do ya), and not a summary or even critique of the show. Frankly, the BBQ isn't interested in 'show summaries'. Uh, we saw it. Don't need a 'summary'-- thankee' and; oh, god, do we loathe critiques!

However, if you are wondering just why the hell John/D'Argo/Aeryn/Chiana/et al might have been THINKING when they do/did/said something... just can't get your mind around it, or wondering what someone 'else' thought about it, well. Then. Good places to go, along with The Max Factor -- are merely peeks at what someone else thinks. A little somethin' to 'stir the pot'. You may agree or disagree at your will. An analysis doesn't necessarily make it so.

One BBQ's opinion. *g*

On the off chance than someone doesn't know, the tranny for Promises is now complete. Although I'll probably keep fiddling with it off and on until Friday. Bad news is... we're now 'taping' Smallville... and gettin' itchy fingers.

Ally's reading list renamed Ally's Fic Reccs. Updating that page every couple of weeks so Ally don't have to weed through the blog looking for recommendations.

Stangely, quite a few stories added to the reccs list in the last two weeks... don't know what we're bitchin' about.

Promises

No spoilers unless you go here=> Tranny in progress, then, you know, 'major' spoilers. Life today and most of tomorrow so this is gonna take a 'long' while. Complete through the cold open, which is, you know... killer. Act I kinda drags- intensely- too many painful metaphors, making me almost thankful for the arrival of the irish cop with an audible thump of airbrakes and makin' the bbq grind teeth. Act 2, pretty much 'oh my goddish' with more teeth grinding from the barbie, the whole thing redeemed by an awesome act 3 ending and a credible and resolving tag. A couple of historic moments. Yeah. And Reservoir Dogs? Bitchin'. Gotta add to my movie library. Later.

For something more specific on Promises, check out what Max has to say. Oh, uh, archiving link is 'not' working now. Another coding glitch brought on by too much fiddling I'd guess. hehe

are we bored, or what?

To what do we owe this honor? Said it before, say it again: So much fic... so little time... *sigh* Fi chimes in...

Say Nothing, by Fialka

Summary: Normal is relative in the UT.

Story Notes: Pre-ep for 405 (shudder, shudder, pass the kleenex). No spoilers, just random speculation.

Ally's Notes: Pending the reading. Thanks, Fi. Wonder if it'll be ironic that Ally won't be able to read til 'after' 4:05? Hope not. Had enough irony for today. *g*

That Which Does Not Kill Us, by KodiakkeMax

Summary: This far was maybe too far, but she was right, he couldn't stop. Had to keep going. Somewhere he'd find the turn, open the door that wouldn't make it all fall apart. He'd walk back into, not out of.

Rating: R

Story Notes: Takes place in Season One, after "A Human Reaction".

Ally's Notes: My good lord, but Max does dialogue like nobody's business! Sat and read and chuckled non-stop. I need a Max blankie!

"Only two doses. I might have flunked First Contact 101, but I rocked at math."

hehe

Life and death and moments of transition. Lovely sense of time and place in characterization, what is revealed and what isn't. All that distance, that wariness of each other lingering still. John still naively clueless, clinging to the past like there's a 7-11 just around the corner. Gave me vaguely uneasy stirrings of nostalgia. Yum.

and...

Not My Father's Hero, by KernilCrash

Rating: G

Spoilers: Not this time.

Genesis: After a frenzied effort to complete “Night Walker” yesterday, I swore upon a stack of Farscape scripts that I would lock up the laptop, and paint the upstairs hallway. However … I was playing some music from a movie which deals with choosing your own path through life, and I had a very strong image of what a very young John Crichton might have been like, growing up in the shadow of his hero-astronaut father. But I tend to treat visions like a Rubik’s Cube. Once you have it neatly arranged in your hand, grasp it firmly, and give it a good twist.

Ally's Notes: One word: "psych!". Got me. It'll get you too. You're wicked, Crash.

Nightwalker, by KernilCrash
Parts 1-3,
Parts 4-6,
Parts 7-9

Rated PG13, S4 safe. Story complete

Spoilers/Time Frame: This story takes place right after “Self-Inflicted Wounds”, and contains substantial spoilers for that two-part episode.

Ally's Notes: Jaws on steroids. And I'm still chewin' on this one.

and...

Black (Ghosts) by Maayan ( maayan42@yahoo.com ) [NC17]

SPOILERS: Futurefic. Branches off after 'What Was Lost: Resurrection'.

RATING: NC17

WARNINGS: Language, violence, het, extreme sexual situations, angst

ARCHIVING: Divine Collective. Leviathan.

SUMMARY: He was full of holes long before the Scarrens put his brain through the Cuisinart.

THANKS: To Fialka, for the invaluable beta, and the cigarettes. Remaining mistakes are my own.

NOTES: Be aware of the warnings.

DISCLAIMER: Not mine. Browder's, Black's, Edgley's, Hill's, Riggs', Henson's and Co.

Ally's Notes: A glimpse of a grim future for John Crichton seen through his own broken and crumbling consciousness, set in the shambles of a bleak landscape.

Pray god Kemper can never be this cruel.

Nothing more I can say here that wouldn't spoil the story horribly. Seriously - heed the warnings and enjoy... if you're able.

Well, I could say that Maayan is the Goddess Of Paintm... would that be spoiling?

Really, at this point I will settle for hurt without the comfort. I can deal. Promise. Which begs the question; can Maayan do just plain 'ol hurt? *g*

M, come kick my puppy... please?

Okay... diggin' myself a hole here... just read the damn story.

Expedience, by cofax [ pd 7/9/02 - Leviathan ]

Summary: If now the torture sessions came at less frequent intervals, the food had actually gotten worse.

Story Notes: Set not long after the Pilot. A Dislocation.

Blistering character study, snippets of glimpses of a world bares a... soul?

Some days I just feel like singin'.

This wouldn't be one of them, but... some days.

Gotta Get Back, Back To The Past

Take the Cartoon Hero Quiz?.

Let me reiterate, I said I was a chick. . . what? No cartoon heroes who are chicks? *bbq grumbles vehemently*

We're a bit boggled that Ally has four different pages dedicated to Farscape Fan Fiction. Passionate. Yeah. That's it.

Anyone think that the only seriously problem with seeing a John/Chiana relationship to fruition would be the damn makeup? I mean, can John get within the requisite distance without getting black or white all over, well, whatever part gets within the requisite distance? My brain keeps ticking back to Losing Time; lovely scene, but the guy couldn't get within the requisite distance without coming away with a nice black smudge across his nose. Mm. Sexy.

Anyone seen a train of thought anywhere around?

Does it seem like Ally is getting harder to please fic wise? Honestly, we remain happy to read anything, but just can't get the recc up if ugly things such as lack of plot, wooden dialogue, truckloads of unnecessary words, and the like scamper across the page. Spoiled, spoiled, spoiled, and not as motivated by character ramblings which accomplish nothing other than to get the voices out. We need sharp, intelligent dialogue, complex plots, inside out characterization, and descriptive narrative so real you can curl up inside it and float away.

Yep, spoiled. That must be it. Aw, hell, she always was horribly picky... right?

Gonna start picking through the universe, collect a stack of h/c. I know there are a few more out there that you've simply 'got' to read. Later.

New at Leviathan: [link]

NEGATIVE SPACE, by Deneba ( pd 7/7/02 ) [NC17]

Excerpt: She leans into me and I put my arm around her, bury my face in the shock of white hair. She fits there, tight in my armpit like she never left. She smells like home. I wipe my eyes with the back of my hand. One down, six to go.

Deneba adds to the DWTB pile, and we're so happy we could scream. The separation anxiety is physically painful, and-- desperate and needing. Desolation followed with incredible tenderness. Oh, and god, smirking greatly at John's choice of film references. Simply adore Deneba.

Other Deneba stuff:
Divergence, To Say Goodbye Again, Blue Plate Special.

Stealing from M's blog today in order to spread the request around and add a fervent, 'hell yeah'...

I need to find someone who can write me some good, pure-bred hurt/comfort. H/C is my secret, guilty indulgence. I just can't write any myself. As I once told Fi, I've got the H down just fine. I'm just completely impaired when it comes to the C. - M

I'd like to suggest Shrift, but I have a strong suspicion she's off writing in another fandom! *gasp* Wonder if orchid or loco can be persuaded? Hm. Deneba. Suspect some serious H/C chops there.

Ally's enjoying the fic being written in the Smallville Universe, it's laced with razor sharp wit, incredibly subtle humor, and blatant sensuality. The conflicts inherent in the story are intense.

oooo, fic!

Story by a new author, posted at Leviathan. A nice bit of filler between "fly safe" and the tag from Wolf In Sheep's Clothing. No S4 spoilers.

New at Leviathan: [link]

REAWAKENING, by elishavah ( pd 7/5/02 )

Excerpt: "Pilot could not pace, but the stress in his tone made Aeryn wince. They were all too much on edge, still reeling from the drawn-out confrontation on the command carrier and the final destruction. It was time to break this gathering up at least, even if the cause could not be addressed. She stepped forward, keeping her face blank."

save me!

This is so not happening. We are so not not not being dragged into another fandom. Cease and desist people, immediately! Not gonna happen. Uh-uh.

no way.

Oh, but, thanks to M for exquisite referral links feeding potential new addiction. Oy. Save me.

Is anyone writing? Every creative impulse paralyzed, clenched in fear? ... No. No, no, no. *thwap* Of course writing is going on. Uh... anyone publishing...? Anytime soon?

Okay, stop your bitchin'. *yeesh*

Starting July 12, 2002, Scifi Friday will be: Dead Zone, Stargate: SG1, Farscape, Stargate: SG1, Farscape. Life is sweet, and somewhere the Arctic Flower and Mutual Friend are squealing with delight. *g*

Oh, and handing out the good with the bad: No Farscape Friday on Friday, August 30, 2002. So, true to form; halfway through S4, mini-drought, but can only extend to mid-September, else Episodes 17 and 18 would have to air during November sweeps, and that ain't gonna happen. So, back again, around September 13th? Which would make it the shortest drought ever- 2 weeks. Ep 12-18 would then likely air... guessing here based on past patterns: September 13 through October 25th... another starvation period until the final four air... what? December? Nah, that'd be too sweet. January 2003. Oh, God. Obsessed? Me?!

Propensity for self-flagellation makes me note that also, if past patterns hold, S4 will begin airing in the UK and, well, everywhere else it tends to air, sometime around the beginning of September. Typically two eps a week air, unbroken through the season, so, Ep 22 likely to air in that region while the US is lingering in the November Drought. Oh the agony.

I'm already clenching over ep 4:11, which won't frelling air until end of August. Info available in the press; Farscape Mag #7, ep is written by David Kemper, directed by Andrew Prowse. Hey, when was the last time DK wrote a mid season ep? (rhetorical question there- it was LATP). He's even gone so far as to ensure Scifi already knows the frelling ep title! DK claims it'll be a "ripper". Oy.

Hey, we just wanted to get a jump on all the angsting and hairpulling that will be going on in a few months. *g*

Ah, author new to 'scape fandom continues warming up. Painful reflections. Ow. At Leviathan...

ENDS, by Gumnut ( pd 4/5/02 )

You know, at least ninety percent of life is that whole, working; commuting; sleeping; reading-riding-running; stuff. You know- the boring stuff. It's not all life shaking/altering crisis all the time. Now there's an interesting challenge. Daily routine anyone?

Meantime, Ally is off reading in another fandom. Sheesh.

Have I said how much I love Leviathan lately? Leviathan rocks! Get your story out-- no waiting. Fic, fic, and more fic! Gotta love it.

urg. Blogger withdrawal. Well, not as if we weren't warned; so Pro it is. I'd do it now, but, damn it, I'm reading!

ah. frell it.

Foolish Girl, by Shaye

Thanks.

And, oh god, prowling around Shaye's blog, found a little tidbit way back around June 3 that I had to snip, snurch and drop here, just cause... I love incept thoughts. Such a simple thing, "why?".

[snip] "...I'm appalled at some of the things I've written in "Foolish Girl," the Gilina fic, not because they're so, so horrible (at least not as compared to, say, Max's new Chiana fic, which isn't the same thing as being a horrible story, mind) but because they're unexpected. It's the first time I've tried to significantly alter the perception of canonical subtext - the entire story pivots around a few minor things most people probably haven't thought about. Why didn't Gilina warn John about Scorpius? Why did she lie about not knowing what she was there to do? Why did she come up with something that would land her former Captain in the Aurora Chair, if she was so unwilling to leave the Peacekeepers as a whole?" - Shaye

There's a lot of Chi in me. the bbq creeps off in shame

blogs are keen

Not merely because of the person(s) blogging, although that can be a very nice thing, but also for the people commenting. Ally spent the first 40 minutes on line, reading the thread posted to suela's "lurker's ahoy" entry. Awed by the depth of enjoyment expressed by the posters; each a joy to read. Excellent. Yes, indeed, the more the merrier. Thanks 's.

And yes, Ally does forget from time to time that a large hunk of the world actually pays for internet access minute by minute. That's gotta rank way up there on the global list of Things That Suck.

Thinking about changing the title page to 'One BBQ's Opinion'. ;)

My cat snores. Wanted to add that little grievance to the global list of Things That Suck... somewhere waaaaaaaaaaay down on the list. Hm. Decided I'm not that petty. Oh well. Cat. Snores.

Oh my god, April 15, 2001. M recc's the BBQ's archive. *blush* Oops, and yes, spent the evening rummaging through M's archives looking for that 'one' entry that made the BBQ into a blog addict/advocate. I think 'this' is it.

And all is good, 'cause halfway through May 2001, M reccs a fic Ally never found. Diggin' through Void is... um... difficult.

Mercy, by Nerys [Post LGM3]

Okay, and I knew that author sounded familiar. Nerys. Also author of "That My Days Have Been A Dream". Interesting. Like that one quite a bit. Author has a number of stories at Void.

Oh, btw. Ally's NC-17 Archive is operational. Nothin' new. Just. There.

glitches

Thoughts, by Gumnut [at Leviathan]

More therapy fic from aeryncrichton, an expanded version of FOR THE FUTURE. And I mean it, this makes me cry, 'cause... you know... not gonna happen. :*(

Warmth, by Atana_Mirtai [S4 Spoilers - fic'ing ep 4:05]

Just want to insert a 'thanks' to the author's putting so much "please tread carefully" material in their intro's. It's helping Ally remain in suspense over what may/may not happen in ep 4:05 when it airs on July 12, 2002. I'll be back to read it all afterward! Thanks again.

Angel answers aeryncrichton's 'Aeryn&Grayza' challenge with THE WAITING GAME. [S4 Spoilers]

And another big honkin' THANK YOU! We get so many lovely emails about the transcripts, they quite often simply make our day. And while it remains a compulsion to crank them out, it is very nice to hear that so many enjoy them so much. Thanks. Ally, the BBQ, et al.

DC is ominously silent, and we surmise from this that M is either out partying or Black (Ghosts) is being... worked. We're very excited.

Orchid's workin' on a Netscape incompatibility issue, and Ally's got her own 'cure' set to go up at any second... if the Arctic Flower would simply answer her frelling email!

I'm plagued by inappropriate laughter tonight, so I'm gonna pass on any sort of editorializing, because... well, because... [inappropriate editorilizing edited for content]. Yeah. That's it.

But on the other hand, now I know for certain that the reason 'this' blog generates interest is that it's a 'time saver'. Now we have a 'slogan'! The BBQ, saving you from dren wading 7 days a week. *g*

Too many use Yaccs maybe, I feel compelled today to drop a note everytime I stop by... anywhere, and usually I can't. "Yaccs is down for maintenance-- come back later already!" Ah well. Dropped by Reminiscent Bay to find that yes, Sunshiner is also writing... or something very like that. Incidentally, S, My favorite is "make me." 'Cause so far... no takers. Make me giggle. Please.

Now that I think about it. I do request permission every single time before I archive a story. That is, move content from one site to another. But linking to something at another site? Hm. Problematic. Unless there's something there saying, 'please do not link to this site', I kinda go with the flow, you know, unilaterally adding links because in the BBQ's considered opinion, certain things 'need' to be read. It's good for ya. That's pretty much what this entire site is about. Big ol' finger goin', "lookie here!". [Not 'that' finger! *g*]

And here we go, diving in the the scifi.com/farscape bulletin board; one eye closed and the other clenched to a squinty narrow line... eep!

The prolific aeryncrichton has finally established her own site to hold all of her wonderful works. Ally added a link to the site over there on the left. Seriously, a huge body of work. Plus the girl beta's for half the northern hemisphere. Rockin', ac!

Crash is teasin' me. Of course the whole thing! *g*

more fic'ing of EP 4:05. Which means the BBQ will read post 7/12, but here's the link so it don't get lost: MIRACLES, by Wild_Violets

An that's all we got. Hey, never watched Tomb Raider before. Heh. This is what Farscape does to you. Interesting listening to Angelina Jolie do the 'Laura Croft' voice. Had to listen to that voice for, what...? 2 years or so. Feels like family in the house.

Later.

Story Notes: Story takes place between DWTB and CK.
