Trying to get caught up on email and then some fic archiving, but first...

New at Orchid's: [link]

Understandings, by orchidcactus [NC17]

This one is rated NC-17, and no fluff in sight, mature adults only. To paraphrase the author, you shouldn't read this story if you are disturbed by uncomfortable situations, or graphic depictions of adult behaviors. Rated NC-17 for S&V. See now, this is why Ally needs her damn NC-17 archive up and running. What? More work?

Bed of Bones, by Maayan

M writes characters inside out. S4 Spoilers.

Finally got a bit of time to read, and blogspot is having a conniption or something. arg. Well, had to go there at some point, so it's off to the scifi.com/farscape bulletin board in search of something to ... read.

Oh, and M... well, hell, I think it's cool to be charmed by the way a particular word is enunciated. I am particularly charmed by the Aussie way of saying, "ashumed". Makes me grin and go, "awwww".

theleftbrain doesn't talk much about 'scape lately, but that John's voice could melt titanium comment made my socks pop off.

Needs, by Angel ( pd 6/29/02 ) S4 Spoilers

Ahhhh.

blogs and more blogs

Thank god for 'em, else I'd be so horribly bored!

MUSINGS FROM THE GUTTER, brand new. You can still smell the paint. Thanks to therightbrain, theleftbrain is now 'online'!

OOooo, and gotta add The Bleat to my 'Blog off the Beaten Track' links -- too funny. Gotta say, the things unsaid? I say 'em. Tact. Who needs it? Admittedly, also like to make people squirm.

Fialka has books to say on the subject up to WWL2, and our brain is churning 'cause we agree/disagree and we see some things that haven't been mentioned anywhere that we've found (centered mostly on the idea that 'it's not about Aeryn'), and we're wondering if we're simply... delusional. Check it out; :: toe in the water :: [S4 SPOILERS]

And in between we keep clickin' back to Divine Collective... just to look and ... grin.

Over at Reminiscent Bay, not only is it still raining, but sunshiner has a challenge posted *whinegrumble* wherein the author is to... and here, frell it, I'll just quote the challenger:

Write a comedic scene. You can use any combination of characters, any style, any length, any point in the timeline. The only restrictions are that it can not include John (cause that’s just too easy) and it must be funny (or mildly amusing).

But no John? What's the point in that? *hehe* oops. 'scuse, my character bias is showing. *g*

Max is makin' the brain work way too hard. Gotta take a break.

All John, All The Time!

New art at Divine Collective. M-- you are simply divine! Mmm. That's my kinda banner. I like it like that.

imloco2 pops in with a short fic which she warns 'might be crap' *G*

REUNION, by imloco2 ( pd 6/27/02 )

Can't speak for possible crapitude as the author admits ficcing spoilers for EP 4:05, so this one's for post July 12, 2002 for the BBQ as well. [S4 SPOILERS THROUGH EPISODE 5]

David Franklin's chat transcript. Haven't read it yet. Likely will be some S4 Spoilers, so beware.

And a fic challenge from aeryncrichton: AERYN&GRAYZA. On the surface, sounds like a request for a chick fight *g*. Let's take a look, shall we? [S4 SPOILERS].

Whew. This is what happens when we skip a day due to extreme funkitude. How's that three-way comin', O?

It'd be almost easier to say when something has NO SPOILERS rather than what does. Ah well.

Awesome! Another image gallery website. This one has some real beauties. Images are crisp and clean. You'll love it.

Image Gallery: farscapetv.com

And, OMG! 13thNight will be pleased to know that this image gallery has a search engine whereby you can search for and display only particular images-- such as John and only John :). I just ran that one. 29 pages, 30 images each page-- that's nearly 900 pics of justjohn. Wow. Oh, and the search for John with 'any other' turned up 77 pages... you do the math. hehe. Check out the search engine. It's cool!

More tantilizing discussion on Black (Ghosts) over at DC. I'm not really this easy, but M's tantilizing discussion makes my heart pound and my guts twist. Can't wait.

Definitely the 'off season' for fic, but Ally has infinite patience. In the meantime, re-reading; found a links to a couple other fics by Deneba in this very archive. heh. Memory- sucks. No Dominion-- makes me giggle when M calls that one her 'fun' fic. tee hee-- see? Written on a Thumbnail... incredible, hall of famer fic.

Watched AFI salute to Tom Hanks last night, twice. Amidst being awed by the body of work; couldn't keep from grinning and thinking about Ben Browder, and framing a 'Dear Mr. Spielberg' letter in my head.

Finally finished bbq'd scape intro to the WWL2 tranny. Jeez, hard work. Trimmed to a fighting 150 words from around 3,000. *g*

Greetings, Amber-- welcome back to the computer... uh, 'prived'? *g*

tranny up, need it be said? SPOILERS

   Friday, June 21, 2002

Okay, all this happened because I'm trying to read AND surf at the same time. It's amazing what happens when you're getting other input while you have access to a method for easily recording every fleeting thought...

Why, why, why are they doing this to us?!?!?!

Apparently ADV has secured the rights to release Seasons Three to Five on DVD and VHS - so it looks to be highly unlikely that US 'scape fans will be getting the same speedy and quality DVD release as the UK 'scape fans enjoy from Contender. All that not having to wait until you're old and gray just to have all the eps on DVD must be really nice. ADV is making me get a hybrid deck so I can get my 'scape fix from Contender.

Okay, this is simply a full on gripe session, but frell!! UK 'scape fans will have all of Season 3 before the summer is out and in the US we should consider ourselves very lucky if we get our mitts on ep 3:22 by February... 2004! *gripegripegripe*

Heads up ADV... losing a customer here.

ARG! Ian Watson and Tony Tilse will only be helming a couple of episodes of Season 4... they're both off doing FILM! Go figure. Great directors doing film! ARG! Somewhere inky is curled up and weeping softly into a pillow.

On the other hand, love the way Annie Single is handling the makeup, everyone looks amazing, nothing at all odd about Ben's hair.

And well, DK... I'd LOVE to read the credits at the back of the show too; could you, maybe, speak to SCIFI on our behalf and see if they might consider NOT squashing those credits into less than one quarter of the screen making it ABSOLUTELY FRELLING IMPOSSIBLE to read for those with eyesight less keen than that of a hawk! (oops, that was a question) ?!

Oh, god. Way too many rants today.

I keep stumbling over DK's penchant for 'nobody' and 'everybody' statements. Wonder if he includes himself in those conglomerations.

Okay, and exactly how shallow is it to be contemplating asking Wayne to stick out his tongue, or Ben to chew a little gum for us, or maybe sing a bit? *sfg*

Goin' to Vegas in September to see Lani, Ginny, Paul and Kent. Oy! Who's gonna come with?

Also, reading: 'Invitation to a Beheading'. Thanks, M.

Still waking to: Pink's 'Mizunderstood'. Thanks, J.

New at Leviathan: [link]

S4 safe; no spoilers. Future fic.

Every Dark and Long Night, by KodiakkeMax ( pd 6/20/02 )

Someone or something is frellin' with me and I'm not sure I like it. Up at three freakin' AM the last two nights after a great big ol' nasty, balls to the wall, four and a half hours of sleep.

On the other hand, woke with an idea teasing that made me titter-- having to do with a bit of speculation on the teaser for tomorrows ep. I wanna share this with 'somebody' but I don't know if everyone even gets the next week on Farscape teasers. And even worse, Ally's aversion to spoilers (when we're the one being spoiled) is causing an icky backlash during the 'on' season. Likely the reason we haven't posted any 'direct' spoilish stuff here-- all that is reserved for the ep tranny, the biggest f'n spoiler in the universe.

Of course, we're not averse to posting the most aggregious teasers here (such as the few that appear somewhere down the page). The spoiler aversion, in consideration of our spoiler averse friends outside the US, will extend to all fic reccs, which will be actually read 'in full' *gasp* before posting links so we can be sure to add S4 spoiler warnings. However, I'm not going to hold myself responsible for spoilers on other websites to which we have links over there on the left margin of the page. You'll have to look after yourself on that one. Some folks are blank fonting spoiler discussions, some aren't. Watch your step.

Okay... so. Ally comes home from work all cheesed off, so...<ally rant>

Why is it that some folks make it their mission in life to seriously piss me off? It's tough to do, but it does happen. Nothing makes my blood boil faster than that whole 'whose fault is this, really?' pose, rather than the ever so much more helpful, 'let's fix this' pose.

And, okay... I can accept that it may be me. Accept that there is something in the way in which I say, "Listen, I've discovered a problem here and I've discovered a solution, but I need your help to get the fix in," that just screams, "Hey, idiot child of my second cousins, here's where you frelled up!" Therefore, the "Oh My God! It Wasn't ME! It Wasn't MY Fault!" responses I get from time to time could be prompted by the edge of the hard-ass bitch in my voice. ... ... Nah.
</ally rant>

Okay then... well, that was pretty weak compared to M's rant. But everyone should have something to aspire to.

Happiness! Popped over to Amazon.com.uk and picked up a few copies of the Season 3 Illustrated Companion; one for the BBQ and well, I figure this is a pretty sweet item as a fluffy doll selection. Also picked up a copy of the next 'scape novel. Heh. Call me a die hard fiction fan. Now if they'd just get an actual 'fan' to write one we'd be all that and more.

I'm constantly getting the feeling that people don't understand me when I speak... mostly because they say "Huh?" a lot.

Challenge Fic

Title: Stuck

Author: Gumnut

Rating: G for goo

Summary: See title. Response to Dialogue Only Challenge, except it is longer than 500 words.

Stuck

by Gumnut

18th June 2002

“Eeeewwww, that is really disgusting!”

“What?”

“This…this slimy stuff dripping off my boot.”

“Oh.”

“Oh? Oh, what? Do you have any idea what it is?”

“Ah…possibly.”

“So what is it?”

“You don’t want to know.”

“I don’t?”

“Not really…you know where we are don’t you?”

“Yes, but….eeewwwwwww, you gotta be kidding me.”

“Ahhh, no.”

“Oh, for frell’s sake, that just tops everything for today. Not only am I
stuck in here, but I’m stuck in here with a galactic booger stuck to my
boot. Who’s idea was it to come down here anyway?”

“Yours.”

“It was not!”

“Was, too”

“It was your idea to fix the conduits.”

“But, I said we could do it from the corridor, you were the one who said it
would be easier from here.”

“Well, it was, wasn’t it?”

“Yes, but you didn’t even think of asking Pilot, what part of Moya we were
entering did you?”

“Neither did you.”

“Crichton, are you there?”

“Yes, I’m here, I ain’t goin’ anywhere fast at the moment.”

“Are you all right?”

“I’m fine, any chance of us getting out of here soon?”

“Pilot’s working on it.”

“Well, tell him that we would be very grateful if he could hurry up. It’s
getting moist down here.”

“He’s doing his best. Remember it was your idea to go down there in the
first place.”

“Don’t you start.”

*********

“Frelling dren!”

“Got a problem?”

“It is in my hair.”

“How did it get in your hair?”

“It’s dripping from the ceiling now.”

“Here let me have a look…ow, watch where you stick that, it’s hard.”

“Sorry.”

“Just lean back over here. That’s right. Oh.”

“What?”

“It’s soft.”

“So?”

“I never though it would be so soft. It always looked coarse to me.”

“So, it is soft, is there a problem?”

“No, no problem.”

“Isn’t yours soft?”

“Er, yeah, I suppose, did you want to feel it?”

“No, just clean up the mess.”

“This stuff is like glue, hand me that rag.”

“Can you get it out?”

“Hold still.”

“Aaargh! Don’t pull!”

“Sorry.”

“Is it out?”

“Getting there. I don’t think I’m going to get it all.”

“This is all your fault.”

“Don’t start that again…It is not.”

“Is.”

“Is not.”

“Is.”

“Is not.”

“Is…aargh, I said don’t pull!”

“Is not.”

**********

“Ninety-eight bottles of beer on the wall, ninety-eight bottles of beer. If
one of those bottles should happen to fall, then there’d be-“

“What the frell is beer?”

“Aaah…beer…the delight of a Sunday afternoon, with your feet up and the
Superbowl on the television.”

“You are making your usual lack of sense, Crichton.”

“It’s a drink.”

“What’s it doing on a wall?”

“What?”

“Bottles of beer on the wall?”

“…Actually I don’t know. I never really thought about it. Perhaps they
were using them for target practice.”

“Why would you want to shoot a bottle of drink?”

“I don’t know…aw, it dripped in my eye. Move over, it’s dripping over here
now. Where’s that rag?”

“There is nowhere to move to, it is everywhere.”

“I’ll just shift…ow, I told you to watch that thing, it hurts.”

“Keep out of its way.”

“What’s with the attitude?”

“We shouldn’t have come in here.”

“It seemed like a good idea at the time.”

Well, it wasn’t and now Moya is congested and I am stuck here listening to
you.”

“It wasn’t my fault, you’re the one who brought lunch in here.”

“I was hungry…you spilt it.”

“It was not my fault.”

“Yes, it was.”

“No, it wasn’t.”

“Was.”

“Wasn’t.”

“Was.”

“Wasn’t”

“Was.”

“Wasn’t…I’m putting my hands over my ears, I’m not listening…ninety-seven
bottles of beer on the wall, ninety-seven bottles of beer…”

**********

“Fifty-four bottles of beer on the wall, fifty-four bottles of beer. If one
of those bottles-“

“Will you shut up!”

“Don’t you like my singing?”

“Is that what you call it?”

“Just trying to pass the time.”

“Pass it with your mouth shut.”

“Mmmphy-mmph..mm..m..mm..mm-mmm, mmphy-mmph..mm..m..mmm…”

“What?”

“Mph..m..mm..mmmph..mm..mm..mph…”

“What are you saying?”

“Just keeping my mouth shut.”

“Pilot! When, the frell, are you getting us out of here? Pilot!”

“Fifty-three bottles of beer on the wall, fifty-three bottles of beer…”

**********

“It’s about time.”

“We did our best, are you all right?”

“I’m fine.”

“What the frell happened to him?”

“He…er…had an accident.”

“How did he get covered in all that slime? It’s disgusting.”

“He fell.”

“How did he fall?”

“…”

“D’Argo.”

“I had to tongue him.”

“Why?…no, don’t tell me. You can carry him.”

“It was his fault.”

“D’Argo.”

“It was.”

Ah hah!

New at scifi.com/farscape: [link]

UFO - Part 12, by therightbrain ( pd 6/18/02 )

I've received an interesting request to provide a short-order, boiled down version, in a paragraph or less, episode synopsis to go with the episode transcripts. Not certain how valuable this would be, and beyond an interesting exercise for us, we can't imagine how useful; after all, the BBQ tends toward weird bouts of snarkiness and a paragraph rundown of the sights might end being even more confusing than the ep itself. But what the heck; we're gonna give it a shot and also include links to various food for thought ep analysis locales; our faves; all this of course on the main credits page, below the episode tranny link. We 'might' even do a retroactive for the first two episodes. Good golly, 'scape fans.... 2 more days.

Still crawling around seeking fic. New fic. We're not above recc'ing fic worthy of the reread-- especially in fic drought times. However; even Ally has her limits, we seriously do not enjoy the prospect of clicking on story link after story link without the slightest hint beyond fic title and fic author, what might be revealed on opening the link. Summaries, ratings, fic date. All very useful information.

Finished UFO, Part 12. Couldn't save it. Rats. Lovely installment. This one's starting to pinch and the desire to stockpile it and read all in one piece is very strong. If only the BBQ were. Looking forward to UFO, Part 13. No hints when that might be. Hang in there.

Ep tranny up.

Okay, it's late and I'm burned but just briefly, let me interject; brilliant ep, so many things being alluded to that are simply frightening and incredibly uplifting to believe. And on a tiny bit of the frightening; just when I think I though things just couldn't get any worse... they do. I'm very excited, thrilled and impressed with this show, just when I think it can't get any better...!

Oh, and I giggled all last night, waking sporadically TO giggle, when I realized how literal minded DK was being. LOL! He's a cruel, cruel, man. hehe. How I love him!

Another response to Max's Dialogue Only Challenge. The title of this one nearly made me do a spit take.

It's not my fault!

This one I can blame on M. Yet another blog added to my 'farscape minds' list. Anna, you're with me.

Complete with 'more' snippets, an untitled Aeryn S1 Fic. Character study. This one can be read without fear of spoilage, and-- added bonus-- very nice despite the dread 'Terrace' mention. Okay, yeah, definitely liked that. Terrace can be a good thing. :)

Blogger is messin' with me. Without the proper training, and certainly no little biscuits, its got me jumpin' through the hoops.

dialogue only challenge response

Author’s note: written in response to Max’s dialog only fic challenge. I don’t own the characters, just borrowing!

This Way

by Sweet Thing

“You gotta stroke it this way -”

“Like this?”

“Yeah, just like that. But firmer.”

“Firmer?”

“Yeah, Aeryn -- more pressure. Like this...”

“Like… this?”

“Mm hmm. That’s better, much better - oh shi…”

“What just happened?”

“I think that was a little too much pressure…”

“But you said be firmer. What do we do now?”

“Sorry ‘bout that… I’ll… um, clean up.”

“But it’s all over my boots, Crichton.”

“So I see.”

“Are you laughing at me?”

“Me? No. I wouldn’t dare. And look, all cleaned up and ready to go again.”

“Hmm.”

“Anyway, strictly it was your fault, baby.”

“My fault?”

“Yes, your fault. If you hadn’t been so enthusiastic -”

“So, what do suggest we do now?”

“If we wait a bit, we can probably try again.”

“I don’t have time for this.”

“C’mon! It might take a bit longer, but it’ll be worth the effort.”

“You think?”

“Oh yeah. Didn’t you know? Second batch, always better than the first -”

“I cannot believe we are doing this.”

“Me either. You won’t tell anyone…”

“Of course not.”

“Um… Aeryn.”

“Well, that didn’t take long.”

“Nope. Not long at all.”

“I’ll try a different angle this time.”

“Whatever you say, baby. You’re the boss… Oh, that’s working. That’s much better…”

“I think I’m getting the hang of this, Crichton -”

“I’d say you are -”

“I mean, I’ve always known where Fellip Nectar came from. But to actually be milking a Fellip… I never knew they existed anywhere but on Tarsus.”

“Hey, this is the Uncharted’s babe! It’ll always surprise you! Can you hurry up? I really need a drink, an’ at this rate we’ll never fill all these bottles…”

It's a blog onslaught!

Can someone direct me to whosoever started all this? Hm. Maybe I can just offer a reward for their 'head on a plate'tm. I mean, don't they realize that 'time is precious'tm and 'the BBQ is weak!'tm?

Over at the practically all new; 'cause the BBQ ain't been there since UFO 11 debutted... Province of the Red, all kinds of interesting words all over the place. Gotta steal this small snippet and hope the Right Brain doesn't shoot us:

"So my question as we go into season 4 is why would the fans think that Crichton either should or would give up on Aeryn? The man wouldn’t be half so miserable if he wasn’t desperately in love with her. And he’s not the type to just move on. No, he’s Mr. Pick- at- the- scab- until- it- bleeds- then- pick- at- it- some- more- until- it- hurts- ‘cause- at- least- that- feels- like- something- and- something- is- better- than- nothing. He’s intense, he’s passionate, he’s loyal . . . he’s bitter. Oh yeah, I’m feeling the pain. Mmmm, pain. Oh, right, so anyway, passionate, intense, loyal, I just don’t see the character of John Crichton giving up on the love of his life. I don’t see Aeryn giving up on Crichton either. The only thing I can figure is that they must believe this is another show, specifically a show that would go the easy way. Hah! Silly humans.

Of course, I don’t know what the PTB have planned for this, but unlike many of the most obnoxiously vocal fans in Farscape fandom, I trust David Kemper, and I trust all their writers and I trust their directors and I trust Ben Browder and I trust Claudia Black. I mean, hell that’s why I watch the show. How can you watch a show expecting it to go a certain way? Of course it’s not going to go your way!"
~ Red

Arg. Loverly. BBQ thought the spleen humor was way funny. We laugh at self all the time. Someone has to. *snerk* ARG! Addicted already. Have we mentioned that 'time' thing? *sigh*

Oh, and orchid needs to pop over, most recent has a kick ass pic from hubble she could snurch for the banner ;)

Celebrating Ben Browder

Giving me huge grins and a warm heart to see all the posts on the bulletin board congratulating Ben on his Saturn Award. This one, I gotta keep. Thanks to Cap'nCrais; in my face or otherwise:

Great Ben Browder Moments - post by CaptnCraisinyourface ( 06/13/02 )

Oh, yeah. We like that. Gotta think of a good one for later.

fic drought

Sad that it has come to this. Fic droughts just as painful as show droughts. Snippets, snippets everywhere, but not a drop to drink! ¡Pero, quiero beber el agua!

Orchid posts a dialogue only snippet, mayhap inspired by Max's challenge.

Buncha new stuff over at Leviathan, looks like another transplant, most originally posted back in 1999; I get this weird feeling I first read them over at Brownies *snif*. Gotta love Nerve and Hidden Memory if only because of the tidal wave of fic writers they unleashed.

Excellent. imloco2 responds to Max's dialogue only challenge over on the scifi.com/farscape bulletin board:

Like Silk, by imloco2

And can I say, "ROFLMAO!". Thanks, J.

Almost ready with Ally's NC-17 archive; crusing around looking for a nice pic to go with. Shouldn't take make than a week or two. *g*

New Moon

Well, no wonder I'm feelin' a bit like crap. Moon is new, but begins waxing tomorrow- yay- full by the 23rd. Hey, it couldn't possibly have anything to do with seasonal sinus headaches that are encouraging migranes to sit chronically off both temples... no. Couldn't possibly have anything at all to do with cracking a frelling tooth (probably from grinding too much due to aforementioned migranes... nonono), and spending 2 unscheduled hours in the kind hands of Dr. Dentist... noooooo! On the upside, anyone who can rid you of the pain which makes you regress to a 3 year old is a-okay in my book. ow.

It is soooooo quiet out there in blogger land. This can only mean one thing. Fic in progress. Yay. Maayan has a snippet of pure agony over at Divine Collective; she is intent on punishing us. For those who don't know, Divine Collective is rated for adults; so kids and non-adults... lookit this! ==> ( sorry, best I could do on short notice ).

At Toe In The Water, Fialka's got some lovely snippets posted. Snippets I'd love to see the 'full' version of. But the BBQ will take snippets and be frellin' grateful, by god!

cofax posts a snippet for the food challenge at mouldiwarping (uh, wassat?), and Maayan's response to same was posted a day or two ago... too busy dealing with the whole waning moon thing to praise and say I giggled a good deal at that one as well-- 'after' I worried myself sick. Maayan. You're a cruel M word. :) Uh. Would it be wrong to say that the BBQ would like to get in the 'bathing John' cue. Can that be arranged?

And oh! Bitchin', shiner! Over at Reminiscent Bay, Sunshiner posts a response to Max's kinda-sorta dialogue only challenge.

Okay, writers... Here's the content of the challenge, borrowed directly from Max's lips, er, keyboard... or somethin'

Write a story (that is, have a beginning/middle/end or conflict). Using only dialogue. 500 words or less. And you are limited to referencing a particular character's name to two times or less.

Post on scifi.com/farscape bulletin board, or just email me and I'll put it up here.

I feel a compilation coming. Well... okay, that just came out 'wrong', but you know what I mean *g*.

Two more days til UFO - Part 12. No pressure. *g*

Gettin' off my procrastinatin' arse. This one's for Jane.

New at Ally's Fiction Archive: [link]

Hold Out Your Hand, by orchidcactus

( morgansmom98@yahoo.com )

Ally's Note: Can't think of a thing that wouldn't be a horrible spoiler for the story. Enjoy.

Disclaimer: Farscape and the associated characters do not belong to me. The original characters in this story belong to The Fornit. This is his baby; I'm just along for the ride.

Rating: R for Language, Violence, and Adult Themes.

Timeline: Following DWTB (spoilers to same), completely AU thereafter.

Archiving: orchid's… place and Farscape Ally.

Notes: I have no prayer for this?

Excerpt: "... Something was about to give, he could feel that spiral pulling at him worse than a wormhole ever had, and he squeezed his eyes shut against the desperate pain of wanting and needing. ..."

oh! bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!

Look out! Max has a short dialogue only vignette up on blog that made me laugh so hard I might've broken something! Careful with those liquid refreshments while reading.

congrats saturn award winners -
Ben Browder & Farscape!

Congratulations to Ben Browder and Farscape on their respective wins! Last night, in their infinite wisdom, The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films honored our own Mr. Browder with a Saturn Award for 'Best Actor in a Television Series' (Syndicated/Cable), and Farscape plucked the award for 'Best Syndicated/Cable Television Series' for a second consecutive year. Gosh... they must be doing something right. This is simply awesome. I am so happy for everyone, and very happy for Ben. A 'very' nice acknowledgement, and to one so deserving. Damn. Life is good.

Oh, and bless Crystalmoon's heart for posting a snippet of Ben's acceptance speech, found over at cinescape.com. Cinescape promises there will be more on the awards as the week goes on. I need pictures! *g* I love it when media folk say Ben is 'eloquent' and that 'twinkling blue eyes' comment in the TV Guide article gave me massive grins. Okay, these are things that we already know, but it is so cool to have it noticed elsewhere. Thanks, Crys!

Oh, uh, duh. My fault there. Sorry, Jane, and everyone else trying to access Orchid's newest from my links below. Mine were frelled. Don't know 'what' is wrong with getting at the story through Orchid's links on View From Here... they work for me. ( although I have a 'suspicion' it might me that clever little java script thing that drags the clock around behind the cursor - not everyone's systems agree with Java. I'd Rx a little pepto for that. )

Here they are again, better luck this time?

Hold Out Your Hand - Part 1 & Part 2, by orchidcactus.

Once more, this is a frelling R rated fic. Rated R for 'this ain't your mama's fanfic'; Adult Themes, Adult Situtations, and Painful Mind Frells (PMFs?). If you read regardless of this knowledge, and end with your panties in a twist, please-please-please, think a half a dozen times- get that brain engaged- before you go emailing orchidcactus.

Oooo! And for the sake of good 'ol repetition. If you see a *gasp* error on the page, give the BBQ a hand and fling an email - or a comment. The BBQ promises not to sell your email to a conglomerate. We generally, read, grin, respond and toss 'em. Also, poor- poor memory. Really poor. In fact, the old memory is SO poor - we're takin' a break right now so we don't PANIC while we desperately try to remember where we left our frellin' car keys! Oh, and, retracing steps only works when memory is not poor. :)

Whoever thought up the term 'typo' needs to get a 'Understatement of the Year' award. Does anyone know who's in charge of those? Seriously. It's not the typo's, pernicious as they can be, that really bother me. Normally, just making me smirk and fling a fixer. It's the words you don't realize you're typo'ing until it is far-far too late. Those pesky words that crop up over and over again, no matter how many times you catch yourself out. You know; wierd and vien, when you know it's weird and vein (not vain). You check yourself thoroughly over and over, and still throughly keeps sneakin' past the watch dogs! These are the words that simply beg for a different descriptor. Not so much a "type-oh!" as a "type-arg!" or a "type-fuckme!" *sigh*

Okay, done fixating on Crichton Kicks, that damned 1812 Overture, choosing 'that' piece of music to reproduce, 'conducting' the music - you must love the symbolism entrenched in this show. Eh. We've seen this coming for a while. Um, and would it be too, cryptic to say that those Russian accents on the Grudeks give me a giggle on 'many' different levels. Is it me, or is DK that detail oriented? Although, in context, I don't get it... shouldn't John have been the one with the Russian accent? Or maybe the Grudeks should have had more of a hybrid French accent. *g* Oh well, this is all just very beside the point, and I'll stop giggling at any moment.

The teasers for potential future plot twists are making my toes curl. Now I gotta go read some blog. Find some fic. Do something productive! Later.

Small Favors - Part 5, by Glass Shoe ( pd 6/9/02 )

And that's all I got. Still trying to find time to read Rhapsody (link below); although others have read and enjoyed. See. Links gotta be here, else I'd read not a word!

Deeply involved in obsess... er, being passionate over Farscape this weekend. So throughly loved Crichton Kicks, we're almost afraid to go the board and get all pissed off. A bit of time to spare, but I still can't cruise the normal haunts til I get my own head on straight about what I saw Friday.

so, some few things hung over from 'too close to 7PM Friday' to post.

Rhapsody, by T'eyla Minh

Looks promising. Definitely added to my read list. Thanks for the assist!

Another email seeking a lost fic. I so empathize with this. And 'occassionally' I do know the answer. Once again, not this time.

Hi

Looking for a rated fic called RHAPSODY by T'eyla Minh. Think it's from the UK but can't find it.
Thought you might have come across it. Any ideas?

Meanwhile... back at the ranch...

Tranny in Progress posted. Little less than half way through, but complete as far as it goes. Available for those who worry that we're off goofing around when we should be obsessing over the latest ep!

Claudia Black pops in to fuel the hysteria! Rockin'.

I'm eight years old again. Christmas is finally here.

Farscape Returns-- Tonight!

Happy Birthday, Anthony Simcoe!

...here we are... so... freaked out; waiting on Christmas morning, that we let another very important day simply pass us by. Drop by scifi.com/farscape bulletin board and leave your best wishes. Better yet, drop by the Anthony Simcoe Discussion Group and give the man a huge "Happy Birthday!"

Last year we were in the beginning of a brief drought and the BBQ remembered to run a Trivia Special. *sigh* Cannot believe how fast a year goes by.

Rated R for 'this ain't your mama's fanfic'; Adult Themes, Adult Situtations, and Painful Mind Frells (PMFs?). Rockin' fic! I've already printed a hard copy and written glowing praiselike remarks allllll over it. This is pretty much how it has to be done in Ally's brain... otherwise we just... babble senselessly.

Life is sweet. Got some reading done and sure enough, sunshiner comes through with a fic that actually made me laugh and shout, "son of a bitch, that's good!". Link provided yesterday as a 'fic for today' for Ally; here's the firm recc-- the you MUST read this fic recc-- here, let me just adjust my fic reader immobilizer pulse... There. Fic Locator Results

Thanks to Maayan and ocdchld, for the locate. Author is SweetThing, story described below is "Without", an extension to an earlier story "Without A Backward Glance", which is included in it's totality as the prologue to "Without". Which, incidentally; bitchin' story. Enjoyed it very much. So much I read the other stories offered by the author at fanfic.net. There's currently one work in progress, chapter one posted in late April. Anyone know if the author is planning on continuing the story?

Story List for SweetThing at fanfic.net

Family Matters, by SweetThing

Oh, and it does 'not' escape my notice that Maayan can do remote code without messing it up. hehe.

Fic Locator Needed

Here's another question from a reader regarding an elusive fic. I came up 'completely' empty this time; the plot tantalizes, and I'd actually like to give it a look myself...

Hi Teri,

I'm looking for a fic and I can't seem to locate it. I thought it was Speedbumps but it wasn't. It's the one where John is like a vagrant. Aeryn and his daughter are both on the planet. He sees his daughter but doesn't speak to her. His daughter picks him out later in a house for vagrants. He's sick and Aeryn takes him back to her house to help him. In the end she saves his life and leaves her life with him and her daughter. Can you remember this fic and where it's housed?

Appreciate any help

Me too. Anyone?

More... while still recovering from Red Shift...

New from KodiakkeMax - Space Between [NC-17 - language, violence, adult situations]

I'm running out of words that mean: 'Incredible'. Stirring, unsettling, painful, and... well, I can't rant on here about 'why' this should be read joyously-- mostly 'cause it's rated NC-17, and therefore not, not, not, open to everyone to read. But; 17 or more, nice healthy emotional balance? Read it. More than once. Say nice things to the author, once you regain the ability. ;)

Uncertain of what to say to an author by way of the infamous 'feedback'? Hey, we live to serve. Read the Rant of the author. Take particular note of the paragraph that ends; and I'm paraphrasing here: 'Don't tell the author what to write'. A lot of truth in those words, we could do worse than taking that advice.

Ally's NC-17 archive is aching to open. Got a nice list of author's we need to beg. Maayan, Fialka, Cofax, Max, orchid, Debbie, and birthsister. Of course, this must needs emails- we suck at that. Time, time, time. [bbq addendum: robynbender... Robyn Bender! Rats... knew I'd forget someone... grrrrrrrr]

And the much touted 1st Annual Poetry Contest is up at ScapeRoute. Vote for your favorite among the five finalists. You can vote once a day, no clue how long the voting will be open before a winner is chosen. Wonder what the Fluffy Doll will be?

Remember that time thing? Well, no time now, this is 'tomorrow fic' for Ally:

After Never Too Late, by Sunshiner

four days

I'm an observer.

I admit. I do more intensly enjoy fic that is of the non-pedestrian variety. No matter how well written-- if it's edgy and makes me think.... if it makes me wrestle with ideas, concepts, characterization; if it makes my brain go down on a slippery slope; I do love it.

I read too much. Is there such a thing?

*whimper* oh man *Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday* only 'three' intervening days *whimper* Why can't Farscape just... suck so I don't have to go through this!!!!

Sack full of disjointed thoughts while I prowl around looking for something new to sink my teeth into.

Can't tell you how often I've made some cryptic remark or other in one comment box or another. Always back out at the last minute. Somehow it's okay for me to be cryptic here; but cryptic elsewhere? That's just mean, isn't it?

I missed the anniversary of the initial posting my favorite unfinished fictm. But not by much. Prowling for words and came across a link in archives and couldn't overcome the temptation to dig it out of the bulletin board archive. Just so I'd have the unfinished beauty of it handy; to read it again and again, whenever I wish. Actually, it ended in a great place. Actual pain in the cliffhanger; knowing it'll never be finished. Knowing that the author wanted to do something... 'unpopular'. I simply adore complex stories. *sigh* Writer's hate 'em don't they?

Should just hybernate till Friday.

Picked up a couple of lovely pressies at ebay to ease the sting of the wait (Pressie 1 & 2), and as promised; picked up the Kate Bush CD, Sensual World. I guess I have Rory Kearn at Crichtonism's.com for that one. One very happy BBQ.

Buncha new stuff at Leviathan, mostly transplants. Thanks to Shrift for providing an update to the goin's on there. Hey, the BBQ's been everywhere and read everything. ;) Most, if not all, of the new stuff is NC-17. A total of 12 reposted stories since yesterday. There's a chance some few haven't been widely read. Among the new is an Ally's favoritetm: Post 'Die Me Dichotomy' angst; pain; sorrow; The Recovery, by birthsister (NC-17). When reading; resist-resist the compulsion to evaluate reality. You'll have more fun.

New 'do' over at Divine Collective. Awesome art, as expected. And as a plus; Maayan channels DK a bit more and is teased with a story idea dancing in that beautiful mind.

orchid lays out a few breadcrumbs for iminent fic. *Ally quivers* Damn deadlines.

Seriously. Nothing better than reading a writer's blog whilst waiting. Jeez, this is long. I'm done.

five days

Okay, for your amusement-- finally got enough of WiSC out to put it up as a WiP. I'm still chewin' on this one, so I'll probably catch quite a few of the screw ups between now and the final gnaw. However, I'd love to get input on the screw ups remaining once I throw it open as 'done'. Gonna go play now.

Later...

Bitchin'! I knew if I hung around long enough I'd be rewarded! LOL. Oh, and BBQJr chimes in below *hugs*. I'm a glass is full kinda gal today -- :)

Continuing at scifi.com/farscape: [link]

Small Favors - Part 4, by Glass Shoe ( pd 6/2/02 )

I've been known to go on and on and on about 'moments'. About how 'moments' can turn 'pretty damn good' to 'incredible'. Read this story. Wait until it's complete if you must. But read it. It's incredible.

six days

Now that I've thrown my hook out there, I'm just not certain I'll be able to take it... but here goes.

Fiction Challenge Response : Hot Bodies:

Rationale, by Kernil Crash

Extra's rock!

From the commentary on Vol 11, for 'Bone to be Wild', by Anthony Simcoe:

The last seven episodes of Season One of Farscape is where I feel that the show hit what it is for the very first time. It brought with it the... contradictions that make Farscape such a wonderful show. I think whether you're talking about the character of a show as a whole, or an individual character; a mistake that people make is that they expect consistency to equal excellence. So, if this show is consistent, if it keeps bringing up these things time and time again, then that will mean that we're on track. "If I've seen this character behave like this, I know that in the same circumstances they will do that again and again and again." But, great writers and great characters are all full of contradictions. It's the fact that faced with the same choice again they could turn in a completely different direction. And that ambiguity is what makes us human and what makes drama interesting, because things aren't set in stone. We aren't computers and the complexity of life means that we're going to create different choices when these circumstances arrive.

Bitchin'. Anthony Simcoe rocks! I could sit and listen to him till the cows come home (i.e., a long long time). Many thanks to One Eye, aeryncrichton and Mickie for the redirect! I've had a wonderful day!
