the road well travelled
Hallelujah! Orchid made it all the way to Texas, proving that inky and the BBQ know nothing at all about spatial relationships. We figured her somewhere near Orion's Belt last Tuesday. Although still enroute, she took a bit of time to update Orchid's Place. Drop by and say 'Hey'. She's plotting fic. You can smell something burning.
Meantime, if you've read fic and not left feedback, the BBQ summarily throws you to the Lions over at Maayan's rant on the subject. Are we reading? Not reading? Or just not contacting the author 'cause it's just so embarrassing to know how to read and write? Hang. Your. Heads.
I've got one line of my Haiku... this writing stuff sucks: "Fans win, SciFi Loses" Only two more that make sense (more or less) in context, and I'll be ready to mail it. *pant pant* I'm hoping to use "pear-shaped" somehow... On to the fic.
A UR, almost abstractly poetic. And I'm smacking anyone who feeds the author with, "John wouldn't do that!". Uh-oh, but, I think I detected a little bit of comfort in all of that hurt. Can Maayan be losing her touch? *g* At any rate, my lip curled up in a half smile there at the end. Maybe I'm just masochistic. Lovely framework of a road traveled.
Crap. I'm doing it again, and I just hate to be teased. But this one is gonna be good if the teaser means anything. Now, if only the author can come through for us. Caution: WIP. New to Ally author. Okay, and, everyone reading.... please pelt the author with many, many pleas for continuation to conclusion. If I can't read the rest of this story I'll probably implode and nobody wants that.
I suppose I deserve this. Genuinely entertaining Aeryn fic. Almost didn't read it due to that disclaimer. Don't let your assumptions guide you!
Let's see, where shall we start? Nicely constructed and written piece, excellent pacing with just a coupla draggy spots, but they make you go, "awwww", so that's forgiven. Some clever plot twists that had my eyebrows arching or lips curling in a grin. Loved it, ac. Another one outta the park. [And that's how the BBQ gets out of sending feedback! LOL -- Feedback by email to the author is like ice cold lemonade on a hot, hot day after you've been paving really busy roads and had irate drivers yellin' at you all day long and... Well, you get the idea.
